• Happy Chinese New Year!

Celebrating 2017 with the year of the Rooster. Preparations are taking place around the world for the Chinese New Year, a festival celebrated with parades, food, gifts and parties.

  • Year of the Rooster

This year will usher in the year of the rooster, one of the 12 animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac. The zodiac attaches animal signs to each lunar year in a cycle of 12 years and it is separated into 12 blocks, with each having a lifespan of one year.

Waterside Lion Dance is led by Ricky Tang, who established this group in 2001. With a passion for Chinese Kung Fu and Lion Dance, Waterside is now recognised as the South's leading lion dance group. Skills that Waterside knows include traditional southern lion dance, dragon dance, unicorn dance and traditional dragon sign martial art.
